Algol - Bluebeard Comes Up Empty

Colorado's Own Bluebeard Comes Up Empty

On September 29, 2012 at 5:54 pm police in Estes Park, Colorado received a 911 distress call from Harold Henthorn. Somehow his 50 year old second wife had slipped and fell 130 feet to her death. It was the couple's 12th Wedding Anniversary.
There was just one problem. She didn't slip - she was pushed over a high cliff at Rocky Mountain National Park, six miles west of Estes Park, CO.

Husband Harold waited until there was no pulse in his wife's body, only then he called 911.
Over the next three years his story to police investigators changed like the wind. This and other inconsistencies led to his downfall.

After three years of intensive investigation involving maps, cell phone records, police reports, witness statements, receipts and insurance company documents 59 yr. old Harold Henthorn, the undistraught widower of his mysteriously deceased opthomalogist wife Toni was convicted of her cold-blooded murder (convicted Sept. 21, 2015).

All chart data is based on government records and news reports.
According to Harold's very detailed Federal Arrest Warrant wife Toni was shoved over the cliff at 4:49 pm on the afternoon of 9/29/2012.

The reader will observe the presence of Caput Algol @ 26 Taurus in the two charts.
Algol is found when obsession takes hold of a person, especially in a situation where insurance money is a motive for murder.
During the course of events it was revealed Harold had secretly taken out a $4.7 million life insurance policy on his wife.

Police have since reopened the case of his first wife's highly suspicious "accidental death" in 1995.
It's doubtful if Harold will ever see Rocky Mountain National Park in the same light again.

Harold Henthorn's birth time is unknown, unverified.

September 13th Eclipse - Denebola and Politicos

September 13, 2015:
The 2nd. Sunday's powerful Solar Eclipse at hyper-critical 20 degrees Virgo has already claimed it's first political victim(s). It bears repeating, this degree is host to Denebola, a potent fixed star in Leo known for reflecting hard-edged criticism. "According to Ptolemy Denebola is of the nature of Saturn and Venus."
"It gives swift judgment, despair, regrets, public disgrace, misfortune from the elements of nature, and happiness turned to anger, and makes its natives noble, daring, self-controlled, generous and busy with other people’s affairs."
Vivian E. Robson.

Congressman John Boehner b. November 17, 1949 with natal Sun @ 25 Scorpio opposite Algol 26 Taurus announced his resignation twelve days after the Sept. 13th Partial Solar Eclipse.
Algol and Venus will often manifest one's inner emotional turmoil in potent ways.
The resignation was a nice way of saying; "Take this job and shove it, I ain't workin' here no more." GOP far right ultra-conservatives had been unrelenting in their criticism of Boehner's political flexibility. In other words, he wasn't Republican enough.

In a different vein, Sept. 11th Texas' ex-Gov. Rick Perry announced his withdrawal from the 2016 Presidential Campaign citing poor finances. At home he remained under indictment on an abuse-of-power charge. His natal ASC +Algol 26 Taurus is a reminder that one must toe the line; state your intent with openness, clarity.

The other US victims will be / are: Arch-Conservative right wing Republicans who, to quote Donald Trump, cannot seem to "get it together to get the job done."

John Denver - Icarus Falls

With no fewer than seven retrograde planets folk singer / composer John Denver had a challenging horoscope to live up to.

Like in the Greek myth, Denver's Capricorn Sun was conjunct the asteroid
Icarus @ 9 Cap.53" within minutes of arc. Recall the ancient hero Icarus flew too close to the Sun's rays, his wings of wax and feathers melted and he fell into the sea to drown.
Moreover, Denver's Sun was inconjunct Pluto - death through one's own agency.
Meaning that the singer was made fully aware of the fuel transfer valve's difficult cockpit location and troublesome operation.

Mercury conjunct Pholus;
Both these were inconjunct Jupiter, equating with negative release via air flight and subsequent death.
Pholus is a wise centaur with a big effect. The implication is Denver was vulnerable if he didn't like the advice being given. Twelve days after purchase he decided to fly the aircraft despite his mechanic's very specific warning.

"10/12/1997, after playing a round of golf with his friends near Carmel, California, Denver headed out to fly a new plane that he had just purchased. He was killed when the plane crashed at 5:30 PM in Pacific Grove, California. After investigation, the cause of the plane crash was released in January 1999. Investigators believe that Denver was low on fuel and, unfamiliar with the cockpit of his new plane, lost control. When he was looking for the fuel-tank switch he inadvertently put the plane into a roll and crashed into the Pacific Ocean."

See his natal chart below.

John Lennon - Dark Star

Legends are nice and satisfying. As 'evolved people' they help us to believe in humanity and a better future. However in, the entertainment business a famous figure is often not what he or she may first seem.

Perhaps it comes as no surprise that music legend John Lennon had Uranus (explosive temperament) plus fixed star Algol @ 26 Taurus in his horoscope. For all his gifts Lennon was a troubled man. The why of his complex personality is contained within a demanding natal chart.

A raging *Algol* can be a virtue when trying to reach great heights, in order to survive or she can symbolize extreme inner challenges, obsession. Negatively expressed; Algol can drag one down - hard.
As Algol's handmaiden, natal Venus can act for and against the native's emotions. Like Perseus, one must choose which path to take with self-awareness and care.

In Lennon's chart we see Uranus conjunct Caput Algol square Venus.
His life is a study in contradictions, in extremes.
The rest is history that requires study.

Ghost in The Machine: Payne Stewart's LearJet

9:19 a.m. October 25, 1999 Pro golfer Payne Stewart's chartered LearJet N47BA took off from Orlando, Florida on a one-way flight that ended in a South Dakota field just after 1:00 pm local time. He never made it to Dallas, Texas as planned.
By most accounts the 8 passenger LearJet was a fairly well-maintained aircraft * - yet inexplicably it went down due to a mysterious pressurization fault.

* or was it ...? Before the doomed flight; the jet's cabin pressurization valve had been serviced. See CBS news story below.

When William Lear sold LearJet to Gates Tire Company in 1967 little did he or anyone else forsee what would occur in the future. Did quality control suffer as new aircraft like Stewart's Gates 35 model took to the skies? Why is Algol @ 26 Taurus so often repeated in event charts involving the firm and aircraft operators?

Here is the jet's Airworthiness Test horoscope of April 3, 1976.
Caput Algol is conjunct Moon 27 Taurus - exact.
Algol's ruler, ultra-sensitive Venus is in Pisces; the latter in mutual reception with Jupiter.
Jupiter (releasing) opposes Uranus 00Scorpio; a sudden / public death.

Payne Stewart's natal horoscope Jan. 30, 1957...
Note fixed star Caput Algol's conjunction with the karmic South Node.

Stewart's Takeoff from Orlando at 9:19 am EST (per NTSB records)
Here Caput Algol is in the 6th of danger directly opposite 12th house Mercury 26.59 degrees Scorpio. Here Algol's stern warning; something mechanical is not right, failure looms.

Payne Stewarts jet had past problems

CBS News: The Learjet that carried golfer Payne Stewart to his death last October - probably after losing cabin pressure - had previous problems with its cabin pressure system, maintenance logs show.
On Feb. 9, 1998, a pilot reported that the plane sometimes would not hold cabin pressure at low altitude, and in July 1999, mechanics again were asked to check the system, according to maintenance reports released Wednesday by the National Transportation Safety Board.
The logs also showed that a valve had to be replaced following inflight loss of cabin pressure on June 28, 1989.
The plane Stewart was on departed Orlando, Fla., on Oct. 25, for Dallas. Radio contact was lost with the plane as it passed north of Gainesville, Fla.
The flight continued on autopilot until it ran out of gas and crashed near Aberdeen, S.D. There has been speculation that the cabin pressure system failed, causing the crew and passengers to pass out from loss of oxygen.
The crash destroyed or damaged several parts of the oxygen and pressure systems; some remain missing.
The NTSB, which continues to investigate the accident, has released, without comment, a series of reports on the crash describing the findings of various teams of analysts.
The plane was operated by Sunjet Aviation Inc., which had done a repurchase inspection on the plane on Feb. 8, 1999. Since then, company records showed there had been a repair on a cabin door, some service was done on emergency air lines, an oxygen bottle line was replaced and a flow valve was cleaned.
On Oct. 12, two weeks before the crash, a bleed air leak was found in the plane's tail and was repaired by replacing a gasket. Bleed air is drawn from the plane's engines to increase the pressure inside the cabin.
The day before the accident, Sunjet maintenance workers fixed an engine power problem by replacing a fuel flow valve, the report showed. The morning of the crash the plane was flown to Orlando at altitudes of 12,000 feet to 13,000 feet with no pressure problems reported.
Airplanes are pressurized so that the atmosphere inside never feels higher than about 8,000 feet, even if the aircraft is flying much higher.
The FAA has reported that Stewart's plane climbed as high as 51,000 feet during its flight across the nation's heartland.
The jet flew four hours and 1,400 miles before it crashed in South Dakota.
The new report showed no conversation on the plane's cockpit voice recorder which, though heavily damaged in the crash, saved the final 30 minutes of sound.
That included an altitude warning alarm, which stopped just before the crash as the plane descended, and a high speed alarm which continued until the end of the tape. The cabin altitude warning alarm sounds when pressure drops below the 10,000 foot level.

What is Algol? Beheading, Electrocution, Survival

What is the demonic fixed star known as Caput Algol? Also known as Medusa; it's a binary eclipsing star @ 26 deg. Taurus in constellation Gemini.
In ancient myth she was a beautiful temple goddess betrayed, ravished by Poseidon and she has thirsted for revenge ever since.

"The head of Medusa from Greek mythology is represented by the infamous Algol fixed star at 26ยบ Taurus. As part of constellation Perseus, Algol was regarded by the ancients as the most evil star in the heavens, but is its reputation warranted? If Algol was truly so malevolent then we would find it common in serial killers. We just don’t find it there, though it is present in some dictators. But it is true that Algol has a connection with death and pain. The medical term Algology means the study of pain".

Algol is present in the horoscopes of famous people; Princess Diana (Venus), Anne Boleyn (Moon), Jessica Lynch ex-POW (ASC), Elaine Gere a survivor, strangled diva Isadora Duncan (Pluto). It's also present in Stalin's natal chart and the charts of famous generals (Patton +Neptune). This powerful, malevolent fixed star is present when there are executions, beheadings and accidental electrocutions.

John Lennon (Algol conjunct Uranus) was shot in the back. Stephen King (Algol conjunct North Node), master of horror, whose books keep turning into films, nearly died after being run over by a truck, and should have died, but somehow recovered. Heart-throb Johnny Depp (Algol conjunct Venus), had to grapple with a headless fiend in Sleepy Hollow, and found out who Jack the Ripper was, in From Hell.

"This star seems to contain immense female passion and power" wrote Bernadette Brady. She added:
"Algol represents a strong consuming passion that may devour you with anger and rage. If one can contain an unconscious compulsion to take revenge, and from that passion return a more productive outcome, Algol is one of the most powerful stars in the sky. Whatever planet it affects in your chart will be charged with strong, intense sexual energy that has the potential to be wonderful, of if repressed, to lead to rage or violence."

Below is the horoscope for electrocuted guitarist Les Harvey.

Explosive History - Disaster Events

December 7, 1941 is still a red letter day for most Americans.

Shortly after 7:55 am on a calm Sunday in Hawaii, while the USS Arizona still rode quietly at anchor an armored Japanese bomb crashed through the forward deck causing a massive explosion. Tons of high explosive powder blew the bottom out of the recently arrived 37,000 ton battleship. US armed forces were under attack.
Why did the ship sink so fast taking 1,177 crew with her?
The answer is written within the October 17, 1916 USS Arizona Commissioning horoscope.

Mars is 26 Scorpio in the 12th house (hidden enemies) opposing the malevolent fixed star *Caput Algol* @ 26 degrees Taurus in the military 6th house.
Algol / Medusa symbolizes twisted rage, compulsion, demonic mutation, death through great destruction.

12.07.1941 Twenty-five years later, Saturn (the Grim Reaper) and Uranus (explosions) had advanced by degree and conjoined the 1916 Algol / Medusa position while opposing natal Mars (war). All three "star" points came together in one cataclysmic event that rocked a nation and ushered in WWII for millions.

Medusa's dual blood is transforming. One type is destruction, the other is healing.

Why alternative astrology - Algol

Why this blog?

After practicing traditional astrology for 35 years I recently joined an astrology forum. Its possible to cast a 12 Noon horoscope without having a birth time. I was told I was practicing "non-horoscopic astrology". This pronounced antipathy towards any other format other than the hellenic, degree wheel based on one's exact time of birth seems excessive and defeatist.
Its as if one may not deduce any client personality characteristics by using longitude and aspects; by the birthday itself. I was also blithely informed, "Without an ascendant there is no horoscope". This summary judgment makes no sense.
Many people do not know their time of birth. Even more have incorrect time(s) listed on birth certificates. Since the 18th century astrologers have been using 12:00 Noon horoscopes as a viable and workable alternative.
If the moon is at a critical degree, say the 29th, and is about to change to the next sign I'll admit a birth time could be an important asset when looking at emotional motive.
More to the point; I've found outer planets, signs, degrees and their aspects tell us much more than first believed.
In particular, I like to focus on fixed stars when conjunct a planet. The presence of Caput Algol (Medusa) at 26 Taurus impacting any planet is of major importance when looking at death through dark & unpleasant circumstances, like murder or disaster. With Venus as Algol's sub-ruler we obtain added information - re. how people love and are loved.

Late August 2015; the 26th at 6:45 am EDT.
It was a senseless, brutal gun crime, the deaths of two cheery news staffers from WDBJ TV in Roanoke, VA.  It was an ugly event of major import, one where the identified perpetrator and ex-coworker, Vester Flanagan, (b. October 8, 1973 Oakland, CA) has no recorded birth time (yet).

Here are two horoscopes; the first is his natal and the second cast for Flanagan's First Day at WDBJ.

Wounded in Love -
Of huge importance is his natal Venus 29 Scorpio and the positions of fixed star
*Caput Algol* @ 26 degrees TAURUS in both charts. Flanagan's natal Venus opposes Algol while being in the critical anaretic degree; about to change, always restless.
